Okay, we're officially down to the wire as we can say "next week" we leave! With Barton working every day now until we go it's time to crackdown and get stuff done.
Our itinerary so far is pretty much done, except for our UK accommodations. Here's what we're looking at so far...
In Iceland we stay one night in Reykjavik and then head up to the North Island for two nights and back to the capital for the last night.
In Dubai we have 3 nights at a Novotel and have booked our tickets to scale the Burj, well, actually we just take the elevator. We're going to visit the Wild Wadi water park and some markets. Trying to decide whether we can fit in a desert safari!
Once in Nairobi we have about 11 days on the university campus and spending time around the city. On July 5th we are heading out on a safari, check out Mara Encounter.
On the 7th we head off to the South Coast for some beach R&R and after a day in Mombassa we head back to Nairobi on the 10th.
The 11th sees us leaving Nairobi and heading back up to the UK. We have two nights in London before taking the train up to Scotland for two days. We leave out of Glasgow on the 16th and arrive back home (via Iceland again) very late at night.
That's the long and short of it!
I am busy photocopying passports, formalizing itineraries to give to people, finding others to take care of the house and making sure we have first aid stuff, appropriate footwear and stocking up on games and equipment for the campus kids. (Have a donation? Let me know!)
Not to mention the kids have exams and field trips and teachers to buy gifts for!!!
